Welcome!
I am a nurse practitioner who originally trained in primary care in the U.S., then completed further training to specialize in mental health. In the US I am board-certified as a nurse practitioner in family health and also as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. Here in Canada I hold registration as a nurse practitioner in both ON and BC. Over my career I have practiced in primary care, addictions, and mental health. In terms of psychotherapy, I have trained in modalities including EMDR, DBT, and CBT. I currently work in mental health.
I am a strong believer in psychotherapy as a means to improve mental health. Too often we find ourselves underestimating the impact that poor mental health has on our home life, our careers, and our sense of ease, peace, and mental well-being. Psychotherapy can offer a safe space to acknowledge our difficult emotions, explore our feelings of overwhelm, help manage life stressors, identify misconceptions that hold us back, and address struggles with interpersonal relationships. It can help us find our way to back to a sense of balance.
It can be difficult to seek help – and a demanding journey back to self-compassion and peace. I am pleased to share this journey with you.
